Casey At The Bat Challenge

Today, Mr. Peter Bragan, General Manger of the Jacksonville Sun Baseball Team, challenge the students to read, read, and read. Mr. Bragan stress the importance in working very hard everyday to improve their reading skills if they wanted to be successful as adults. Students also listen to a story "The Greatest Drop Game". Finally Mr. Bragan recited the poem, "Casey At The Bat" by Ernest Lawrence Thayer. He challenge the students to be able to recite the poem from memory by May 10, 2008. Students have the opportunity to earn a Jacksonville Sun's Baseball Bat or Glove.

And finally South Paw made an appearance.

Field Trip

On April 16, 2008 the 5th grade attended "Learn for Life" field trip heldat Camp Echockotee in Orange Park. We spent the day fishing, hiking, orienteering, and made dirt cups(you know putting, cookies and candy worms)

This week we will be doing a
